Welcome to Serendipity…

Adele, the creator of Serendipity and its bears, began bear making in the 1980’s and opened Australia’s first major retail teddy store specializing in bear making supplies and workshops.

That was in the early 1990’s and was one of the most exciting times in teddy bear making and creativity. Many wonderful friendships were formed during the time the store was open.

One of the more special friendships was with Pauline Wong who initially came to a workshop and from there became a very close friend, mentor and teacher. Pauline became one of our valued staff members and provided many a giggle as we all tried to “educate” her in our Aussie ways. We were the crèche for her much beloved baby pugs - again who provided us with loads of laughs. Pauline was incredibly talented in many fields but excelled in the making of miniature bears. She then developed a range of miniature and small bear patterns many of which are on this site.

Pauline passed away in December 2008 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She will be so missed but left a wonderful legacy in her creations.

We moved to Donald in Central Victoria some years ago now. Who said life in the country was more relaxing!!! We’ve been very much on the go and have had limited time for creating bears. Finally we have a little window and have added mini discs to the site and hope to have special bears and other items from our collection for sale.
